Arizona Fraternal Order of Police Legislative News
Oppose the Senate's proposal to increase PSPRS employee contribution rates

Jim MannWe need Your Help!

Now is the time to send email to the Legislature opposing SB1035.  This budget bill would raise all Arizona Law Enforcement retirement contribution rates by 1.93%.

To assist our FOP members, we have an email web page set up to generate individually addressed and personalized emails to each legislator.

To send email to each legislator opposing SB1035, go to http://www.azfop.com/Contact1035PSPRS.asp. Simply fill out the web form - including your email, name and home address information.  The web site will generate the emails and send you a confirmation.

This email contact form specifically addresses the proposal to increase the PSPRS employee contribution rate by 1.93%.  Please only submit this form once.

Later in the week, we will design several more email web forms for you to complete:

  • The next grassroots effort will oppose the CORP employee contribution rate increase,   address the proposed large budget cut to the Arizona Department of Corrections and oppose the proposal to privatize the Yuma, Eyman and Perryville prisons.
  • We will also design a form opposing the legislature's proposal to eliminate new hire Dispatchers from joining the CORP retirement system after October 2009.
  • We will oppose the legislature's proposal to sweep the municipality's portion of the Vehicle License Tax, VLT, which would further damage the cities efforts to responsibly manage their budgets.

We are intentionally addressing each matter separately, over a one to two week time period.

Please only submit the web forms once on each subject.

Fraternally,

Jim Mann, Executive Director
